My Bible Story

God gave a special command: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” He also said, “Honor your father and mother,” and promised a blessing to those who obey. Romans 13 teaches that God places leaders over us, and respecting them is part of respecting God.

What This Teaches Us

  • Obedience to parents pleases God.
  • Respecting leaders shows maturity and honor.
  • God blesses those who obey authority.
  • Authority is part of God’s order.

Memory Verse

“Honor your father and mother.” — Ephesians 6:2

Activities

  • Honor Hands Craft: Trace hands and write ways to help parents.
  • Authority Match: Match leaders to their roles (pastor, teacher, parent).
  • Obedience Role-Play: Students practice responding respectfully.

Prayer

Lord, help me honor and obey the leaders You placed in my life. Amen.
