My Bible Story

Peter asked Jesus, “How many times should I forgive?” Jesus answered, “Seventy times seven!” Jesus then told a parable of a servant forgiven a huge debt — but that same servant refused to forgive someone who owed him very little. The master punished him because he lacked mercy. Jesus reminds us: God forgives us, so we must forgive others.

What This Teaches Us

  • Forgiveness is not optional — it’s a command.
  • We forgive because God forgave us first.
  • Unforgiveness hurts us more than others.
  • God loves a merciful heart.

Memory Verse

“Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” — Colossians 3:13

Activities

  • Forgiveness Chain: Create paper links showing people to forgive.
  • Erase the Hurt: Write hurts on paper and erase them to symbolize forgiveness.
  • Act of Mercy: Kids think of a kind action toward someone who hurt them.

Prayer

Jesus, help me forgive like You forgave me. Heal my heart and make me merciful. Amen.
