My Bible Story

Barnabas was known as the “son of encouragement.” He welcomed Paul when others were afraid of him and helped believers grow in faith. Encouragers lift others up, speak life, and bring comfort to those who are hurting.

What This Teaches Us

  • Encouragement is a powerful gift.
  • Our words can strengthen people.
  • God wants us to build others up, not tear them down.
  • Even children can encourage others.

Memory Verse

“Encourage one another and build each other up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Activities

  • Encouragement Cards: Write kind messages to classmates.
  • Speak Life Circle: Children share positive words.
  • Compliment Chain: Make a chain of affirmations.

Prayer

Lord, make me an encourager like Barnabas. Help me use my words to bless others. Amen.
